Acre Family Child Care held its annual meeting February 11 at UMASS Lowell (Wannalancit Mills). Family Child Care Providers, Staff, Board Members and families gathered to vote in new and returning board members.
Acre Family Child Care is welcoming five new board members this year. Joining the board are Heather Markez from Alumni Services at UMASS Lowell, Angela Mendonca, an Acre Family Child Care Provider, Theresa Park, the Director of Economic Development for the City of Lowell, Janelle Perez from Lowell Community Health and Dora Lemus as the parent representative. Their expertise, experience, and input will make a strong active board even better!
As with all Acre events, an impressive display of culinary diversity was on display as staff and providers catered the event.
Guest were treated to a performance by the University of Massachusetts Lowell String Project. The Strings project provides high quality stringed instrument instruction and creative music classes to Lowell Public School students. http://www.uml.edu/string-project/
The full slate of board members was unanimously elected. A special "Thank You" to former Board President Michael Gallagher and former board members Serina Ryder and Attle Young for their years of service to the Acre Family Child Care Board of Directors.
